In April 2005 we started our journey to find our daughter....
We have been planning our trip since April 2005... thinking that we would be traveling on several different dates. Throughout the last year, we have been looking at the China Center for Adoption Affairs (CCAA) website, trying to project when we would be going. At the end of November, we learned that our login date had been matched. We anxiously awaited our first pictures and information about our daughter.
On December 4th, 2006, we received our first pictures of our daughter, Addison Danielle Yi Min Locke. Her Chinese name Jiang Yi Min means "River Close to the Mountains". (All of the babies from the Guigang Social Welfare Institute have the name Jiang (River)... we believe it is because of the Li River in Guangxi Province, look at our photos from Guilin and see the famous Li River.)
Addison was born May 5, 2006... she is 5 months old in these photos. Since her birth, she was living in the Guigang Social Welfare Institute in Guigang, Guangxi China; however, we learned that in September 2006, she went to live with a Foster Family. Addison lived with her foster family until we arrived in China to pick her up. Her foster mother is a homemaker and she had an older sister to play with and take care of her as well.
We then received updated photos of her on December 27th. Now, everything seems so real.
Our Trip Plans
Our trip to pick up Addie is finally going to be realized. We will be traveling to China on January 17th, 2007. We are going to be traveling with my parents to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Xian, Guilin, Nanning (where we will meet Addie for the first time), and lastly Beijing. It is going to be an amazing and whirlwind trip. On January 29th, we will be meeting Addie. If you click on the links below... you will see more about our trip!!!
This Map of China shows where we traveled to.
